About Scuba Tanks

Scuba tanks are gas cylinders used store high pressure breathing gas. Scuba tanks are one of the component of scuba gear. Scuba tanks are also known as aqua lung because it operates in much the same way as a human lung. These tanks provide breathing gas to scuba divers, so that they can breath easily underwater. Diver can control the volume of gas through diving regulator. Internal volume of scuba tanks lie between 3 – 18 liters. Pressure in scuba tanks lie between 200 – 300 bars. Tanks are made from either steel or aluminum.

Scuba tanksenabled humans to breathe while underwater. Gas in scuba tanks contains normal air which is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. Normally, these tanks allow divers to dive for an hour but some facilitate longer diving time. Due to pressure issues it is not recommended to dive much time. The pressure vessel and cylinder valve are the two parts of scuba tanks. Buoyancy plays very important role in these tanks, it means how light something is as compared to something else. Always adjust buoyancy such that you are able to stay down at the end of the dive. Scuba tanks play very important role while diving.
